Dr. Rivka Edery is a skilled, committed and empathetic therapist focusing on trauma and complex PTSD. She holds a doctorate in clinical and applied psychology and is licensed as a clinical social worker. Her dedication lies in aiding individuals in overcoming abandonment issues, complex trauma and attachment challenges. Employing proven methods such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) she supports clients in their quest, for strength, health and secure connections.

Course Description

This comprehensive 4-part workshop series will equip you with the knowledge and skills to effectively integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in your clinical practice. The U-Model, an innovative framework, will guide you through the process of combining these two powerful modalities to enhance therapeutic outcomes for a wide range of clients, including those in foster care who may have experienced significant trauma.

This course is eligible for 2 continuing education credits.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to:

  1. Apply 2 IFS techniques to establish a compassionate relationship with internal "parts" and address polarizations.
  2. Demonstrate 3 core ACT techniques, including defusion, acceptance, and present moment awareness.
